Geese Over half the population of lesser Snow geese use the basin during the spring migration. Rainwater Basin Snow geese are counted by the millions. 90% of the mid-continent White-Fronted goose population stages in the Basin. Big numbers of migratory birds and we get you face to face with the birds.
Ducks - 30% of the continents Pintails and 50% of the mid-continents population of Mallards stop over in the Rainwater Basin during spring migration. Over 20 species of waterfowl have stopped over in the Rainwater Basin.
Shore birds, Eagles, Songbirds and Hawks are very common.
