2009 is promising to be our best year ever! Recently the Foundation opened its headquarters on a project supported by the local community of Sheldon, ND. This is a significant step forward for the Foundation because not only does it provide a permanent location for Save The Hens operations, it also serves as the Foundation's first field office! Additionally, Save The Hens has taken a significant step forward in building local community support because the Headquarters building will also serve as a community center for organizations and residents in the area.
Funding for the development of the Headquarters was raised by local donations and grants received from: ND State Historical Society (building is on the National Historic Registry) Ransom County Economic Development grant, Ottertail Power Company, RDO Equipment donation. These successful efforts at fundraising have enabled us to keep true to our goal of applying members' donations strictly towards our mission work. Save the Hens Foundation is a true prairie partner both in the community and in the field.
